Beautiful, Even Skin Revealed! Facial Peels that Target Pigmentation

Is uneven pigmentation preventing you from putting your best face forward? Don’t hide your beautiful face; pamper it with a facial peel that targets all of your pigmentation concerns.

If you have age spots, scars from acne or another skin trauma, or suffer from melasma, it’s tempting to want to hide away or cover your uneven complexion with loads of makeup. However, slathering on makeup may create other problems, such as spots and clogged pores and may make lines and wrinkles even more visible. Instead of covering the skin, treat the pigmentation with a healing and effective facial peel!

Glycolic Acid

Facial peels to the rescue!

Facial peels contain a mixture of acids that specifically target pigmentation and other skin concerns. The acids exfoliate the skin’s top layers, clearing away dead skin cells, to reveal younger, fresher, healthier skin. Although peels are typically applied to the face, you can also apply them to your neck, décolletage and hands. Click here to download

What are the different types of peels?

Peels tend to fall into three types: superficial, medium and deep. The difference between the three is their potency; superficial peels tend to contain mild versions of alpha or beta hydroxy acids, medium peels contain stronger glycolic or trichloroacetic acid and deep peels contain phenol.   Two peels we recommend to treat pigmentation are the Benefit Peel and the Timeless Peel.

CosMedix Benefit Peel

Full of powerful antioxidants and other healing ingredients, the Benefit Peel is a moderate-depth peel. It contains a combination of Vitamins A and C to brighten, strengthen and resurface the dermal layers. Specifically, it contains 10% encapsulated Retinol AGP complex and 20% L-Ascorbic Acid. Unlike many traditional peels, the Benefit Peel gently stimulates the skin to begin the renewal process and replace old, dead cells with healthy, fresh cells. Vitamin C increases the production of collagen to help create a smoother, nourished, and even complexion. The Benefit Peel is so gentle that even people with sensitive skin, rosacea and skin of colour can use it. You’ll likely see results in just six weeks.

CosMedix Elite Timeless Peel Rx

The Timeless Peel is ideal for people who want dramatic results. Like the Benefit Peel, it contains Vitamin A, but in a concentration that is four times more powerful. It also contains L-Lactic Acid to exfoliate the top layers of the skin and make it easier for vitamin A to absorb deeply into the skin. Instead of just exfoliating the skin, like many peels, the Timeless Peel addresses skin concerns at the deeper levels of the skin to correct melasma and hyperpigmentation, treat mild acne scaring and repair sun-damaged skin. Since the Timeless Peel is so powerful, we strongly advise including Vitamin A and Alpha Hydroxy Acids in your regular skincare routine before you go in for treatment. During your advanced skin consultation, we’ll discuss the level of preparation your skin will need.

What to expect after a facial peel

After the facial peel is applied, your skin may feel warm and tingly for several minutes. In some cases, you may experience some stinging. After the treatment, we may apply a cream to help soothe the skin. You may experience some redness as the upper layers of the skin begin to flake away. The healing process varies based on the type of facial peel you select. Before you leave the office, we’ll provide you with information about what to expect during the healing process. What are you waiting for? Now is the time to correct pigmentation and create an even complexion. Call us today to schedule your appointment.
