How did you get started with Medico Beauty?

In late 2003 I completed a Bachelors degree in Economics that developed my skills in math, identifying trends and forecasts. The best part was learning how this information transcribed into the real world and of course business and policies. However, I am a creative thinker and the prospect of number crunching didn’t seem like the most inspiring career option.

I believe that the topic of health and beauty is in my DNA! Both my parents are Medical Professionals and partners in a Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Practice in Kensington called Plastic Surgery Associates (PSA UK). The growth of non-surgical, Medical Aesthetic services meant that I was in the right environment to explore this niche area and I could gain experience in business and marketing.

In 2003 I began working in the practice as the General Manager and was in charge of the day-to-day running of all Aesthetic services. The timing coincided perfectly with the introduction of advance and sophisticated formulations known as “cosmeceuticals.” The products had integrity and made noticeable improvements that benefited patients in a deeply inspiring way. The provision of advanced skin services appealed greatly as the delivery had a high level of integrity and was the exact opposite to the mass-market production of “promises in a bottle.”

These intelligent, and effective formulations would resolve all common cosmetic skin concerns that had previously caused pain and negatively affected the patients self-esteem. I could see that there was a direct benefit to the customer that wasn’t just about the value from the feeling of using the product (what was generated from the texture and smell) but the overall treatment experience and transformation.

Being in a position to make everyone feel happier in their own skin is really motivating and has increased my desire to continue with expanding my own knowledge, expertise and ultimate complete the company mission to form a network of MB Certified Professionals.

What is your current role?

I am currently Managing Director and responsible for business development and sales. Now advanced beauty services have moved from niche area into the mainstream I enjoy developing other areas of the business such as online engagement with the general public. I enjoy taking a hands on approach and carry out consultations and treatments in a satellite clinic called Synesthesia in Clerkenwell Collection, Farringdon.

What’s your favourite product within the range?

Surprisingly I didn’t have to think too long to decide on only one favourite! I have personally seen long lasting results from using Opti Crystals made by CosMedix. It is currently the only formulation that effectively treats the skin around my eyes. From time to time I have stopped using it and within three weeks it is pretty obvious that something is missing. As the years have passed I’ve found the skin has remained free from lines, dark circles and well hydrated. Without Opti Crystals I would otherwise look like a corpse!

What’s your favourite treatment?

I previously suffered with Melasma, which came as a big surprise to me! It emerged from a combination of different factors that I realised with hindsight could happen to everyone. Because of my mixed heritage it is vital that treatments don’t burn because the problem would otherwise become worse. Fortunately Timeless Rx peel, which is formulated with a combination of corrective Vitamin A and purified AHA’s came to the rescue. Within a few months the big brown patch on my forehead had disappeared and has never returned.

What do you love doing outside of work?

I like meeting new people and have found living in central London there is plenty of opportunity to do so. I am involved in community events that include fund raising for a local organisation called West London Action for Children.

One of my big passions includes practicing yoga. Taking the time to go to class is part of a lifetime commitment and I have realised so many benefits including improving my own health and well being.

I am a classic Sagittarian and LOVE to travel. Being abroad usually leads me to seek out a great art exhibition, show or do a tour. Experiencing new cultures, food and language makes the tapestry of life so much richer! I will also admit that my Irish heritage also dictates that I am always available for a jive!

How did you get started with Medico Beauty?

I started working with Medico Beauty in July 2014 but had already been a customer, having trained with Medico Beauty Institute in 2013 to become a certified aesthetician and use CosMedix peels in my treatments. I loved the products, treatments and the ethics of the company, so it was an honour to be invited onboard as part of the team.

What is your current role?

I am the National Eduction Manager and I am responsible for delivering training and education to therapists and skin care practitioners within the UK and Ireland.

What’s your favourite product within the range?

I absolutely love CosMedix Purity Clean. It’s a multi-functional product that has literally transformed by skin. I recommend it to everyone and I always get thanks back in return!

What’s your favourite treatment?

Our Dermagen+ treatment, a protocol that is unique to Medico Beauty. It’s a combination therapy that gives amazing results in a very short space of time. Combining traditional medical needling with modern scientific findings and a unique technique to ensure a non-traumatic approach to dermal needling, reducing discomfort and downtime whilst boosting the results.

What do you love doing outside of work?

I work as an aesthetician so I see clients outside of work. I also write and have two of my own blogs, as well as contributing for other websites occasionally. For downtime, I enjoy reading (mostly skin / health books), kettlebell workouts, yoga, meditation and dining out.
