Whatever their age or personal skin concern, Medico Beauty encourages all patients to use sun protection on areas of their body which are regularly exposed – particularly their face and hands. We advise our patients to do so multiple times a day, every day, whatever the weather, whatever the location.
Most sunscreens protect against sun-burning UVB light, however, skin experts now know that damaging UVA is also present, both day and night. A combination of protective minerals – not chemical formulations - have the ability to provide full spectrum protection.
Unlike many competitors, Reflect does not contain Oxybenzone or any other chemical due to their inadequate UVA protection and irritation of the skin. Instead, this product combines Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, both non-irritating, broadband physical sunscreens which are beneficial for all skin types. A mineral sunblock will continue to protect the skin until it is removed from the skin’s surface with water or sweat.
As an added bonus, Reflect contains a bio-logically, Chirally Correct ingredient called Squalane, derived from Olives. This emollient is included to support, rather than disrupt, the skin’s natural self-hydrating and exfoliation processes. The ingredient is also skin repairing and will penetrate deep into the skin to help accelerate new cell growth, heal burns/sunburn and protect from the elements.
Reflect Rx also contains Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, a healing Antioxidant. It will squelch rouge Free Radical oxygen molecules, which cause havoc to the delicate structure of skin cell membranes. These nasties create DNA mutations which lead to abnormal cell function, inflammation and the breakdown of healthy looking skin. This product will naturally hydrate the skin far more intelligently than any over the counter ‘moisturiser’, which also typically contain nasty, irritating ingredients, often resulting in inflamed skin and a disrupted barrier function (even if you can’t see it with a naked eye).
