The skin is a complicated organ, comprising of many layers. If we were to take a cross section in order to examine the difference between healthy vs. unhealthy skin, the most noticeable difference lies in the thickness between each skin layer from the top to the bottom. 

Whilst healthy skin contains a thin crust of skin cells full of protective protein, the out layer of unhealthy skin has typically thickened due to a sluggish rate of skin renewal. Although a thickened epi dermis isn’t what causes wrinkles, it does greatly impact on the skin’s outer appearance, making it appear rough and dull, because light can’t reflect as brightly onto it as compared to a smooth surface.  

In order to effectively and intelligently exfoliate the very thin outer layers of skin effectively, Defy has been formulated with a variety of differently sized molecules: L-Malic, L-Tartaric and L-Lactic.   

This unique trinity of compounds are bound together in a hydrating cream base. The formulation incorporates a Nobel Prize winning delivery system, called Fullersomes (very small carbon spheres) allowing for our active ingredients to penetrate deep into the skin and deliver results fast.

Cleopatra famously bathed in goats’ milk – well, you can now too! Utilising nature’s own way of aiding and retaining a smooth, dewy complexion, Defy includes chirally corrected L-Lactic acid. It acts as a gorgeous, natural alternative to inflammatory and often synthetic acids prescribed in various cosmetic products, such as Glycolic.
